Why prescribe EkiYou®
Discover the clinical data, indications, key features, and prescription details for EkiYou®.
To support patients, EkiYou® offers a wide range of features.
EkiYou® calculates bolus insulin dose.
EkiYou® ncludes adjustment algorithms that, with the patient's consent, enable weekly adjustments to insulin therapy settings (carbohydrate ratios, correction factor, and basal insulin dose).
EkiYou® reminds patients of their scheduled basal insulin dose.
EkiYou® calculates and suggests a correction bolus when the patient enters a high blood glucose value.
EkiYou® also sends a notification reminding the patient to check their blood glucose after a bolus injection.
EkiYou® can connect to continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems and remote monitoring platforms.
EkiYou® is a medical device intended for adults with type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, or diabetes secondary to pancreatic disease, treated with insulin pens according to a basal-bolus regimen and monitored by a healthcare professional.
Users must be able to operate a compatible smartphone and follow the instructions in the user manual.
EkiYou® is a digital therapy designed to support adults treated with insulin pens according to a basal-bolus regimen in the daily management of their diabetes.
During initial setup, the patient enters their key insulin therapy parameters, including their carbohydrate ratios, correction factor, and basal insulin dose. If these parameters are not known, setup assistance based on the average total daily dose (TDD) is available directly within the app.
Once configured, EkiYou® takes several everyday factors into account to recommend personalized insulin doses (meal and correction boluses):
- Glucose values, via compatible continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems.
- Active insulin.
- Diet, powered by a database of over 400,000 verified foods, visual references to make portion estimation easier, and multiple input methods tailored to each patient's preferences.
- Physical activity, from a wide range of activities, taking their duration and intensity into account.
Based on this information, EkiYou® recommends a personalized insulin dose tailored to the patient's context.
New: Insulin therapy that adapts as needs evolve
Beyond dose calculation, EkiYou® analyzes trends in glucose, meal, and bolus data to suggest adjustments to key insulin therapy parameters, helping to support the patient's evolving needs between consultations.
With the patient's consent, the app can:
Automatically adjust the basal insulin dose¹.
Automatically adjust carbohydrate ratios and the correction factor on a weekly basis².
In this way, EkiYou® supports patients in adapting their treatment over time, while leaving them in full control of the recommendations offered to them.
New: "My Meal Sizes" (PMG): a simplified alternative to carb counting
For patients who prefer not to carry out detailed carbohydrate counting at every meal, EkiYou® offers the "My Meal Sizes" (SML) feature. This feature allows users to simply enter the meal size by selecting one of three available categories:
- Small meal
- Medium meal
- Large meal
This approach simplifies daily food logging while still allowing EkiYou® to recommend an appropriate insulin dose.
New: Data Sharing with Remote Monitoring Platforms
Thanks to data sharing with remote monitoring platforms, gain access to your patients' relevant data to enhance follow-up, facilitate therapy adjustments, and support proactive patient care.
¹By analyzing glucose variations during nighttime periods over the past 14 days.
²By analyzing glucose, boluses, and carbohydrate intake over the past 14 days.
Proven efficacy
Through the EkiYou-Study-1, conducted in France, EkiYou® is the first digital therapy in app form to have demonstrated improved glycemic control¹
Improved time in range¹
Reduced fear of hypoglycemia¹
Easy to get started
Studies have also shown that EkiYou® is easy to set up and that its use helps reduce patients' mental burden:
More than 3 out of 4 patients successfully set up the app without assistance ²
87% of patients felt more confident using the app³
A prospective, multicenter, randomized, controlled clinical study (NCT06738849) has been conducted at several hospital centers specializing in diabetology. Analyses are currently underway.
The primary objective of this study is to assess the impact of EkiYou on Time in Range (TIR). It also aims to measure the durability of performance at 6 months, as well as user satisfaction, quality of life, and engagement with the app.

¹EkiYou-Study-1 Study, NCT06529705
Regular and correct use of the application allows users to benefit from personalized bolus calculation and was associated, in EkiYou-Study-1, with improved glycemic control in active per-protocol participants:
- Through improved Time in Range, which increased from 44.7% to 51.5%, corresponding to +6.8%, with p=0.0021 in 15 active per-protocol participants.
- Through reduced fear of hypoglycemia, measured by the HFS-II score, which decreased from 35.07 ± 15.3 to 28.07 ± 14.7, corresponding to a -7 point reduction.
- This improvement in glycemic control was observed without increased hypoglycemia exposure.
